Welcome to St. Lucia. This sovereign island in the eastern Caribbean Sea is located north/northeast of St. Vincent, northwest of Barbados and south of Martinique. It covers a land area of 617 km2 (238.23 sq mi) and has a population of approximately 174,000.

This volcanic island is mountainous with lush rain forests and sandy beaches. Its tropical climate ranges between 70 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit throughout the year. The most famous and distinct world heritage site, the pitons is both a natural and romantic wonder. The twin peaks rise majestically 2,000 feet above sea level. The official language is English; however a French base Creole patois is widely spoken by the locals. The currency is Eastern Caribbean Dollars (XCD); however the United States Dollar (USD) and all major credit cards are accepted.
